, angel island and our commuter ferry service to tib bureau ron and the 15 services are all maintained by blue and gold feet employees at our pier nine facility in san francisco. i don't believe this slide needs much explanation these are the public agencies who over see our operations as you can see, we get a lot of help. every from the port to fish and game and i believe we have a good relationship with all of the agencies since we abide and understand that each agency has a job do and performs a service to the public. blue and gold employs 250 employees during the peak season and one 75 employees year round, we have a diverse workforce and are proud of providing a an atmosphere for quloiys to reach their potential and we have a numerous employees that have started as photographers and have become captains and we believe promoting from within and our workforce is a testament to that belief. the masters and piles you know represent our captainses engineer and is ticketing staff as well as the deck hand who work on excursion and rocket boat services and many start working at blue and g

we try to flex in what they want with training and skills as andrew mentioned and ron mentioned. it's all based on what the employers need in terms of skills so we hope we put something together that is adaptable and flexible for the market and much of the employment is driven around the technology center so we want to adapt and make sure our clients are employed. we focused on mobile apaps. i am considered an elder in the technology field. most of the folks coming into this are much more creative. the whole innovation model that supports mayor lee's efforts. it's being able to adapt to the change of technology. all of our supporters and know this and between the mobile apapps industry and you will hear more from james jones and talk about communication technology and everybody in the room has a hand held computer and think about ten years ago we didn't have that so the change in technology is important. you can see what we're focused on in the 35 growing occupations in san francisco. all of that is incorporated into our curriculum and make it adaptable. the partnership with sf t

he contacted ron case, representing the lower polk neighborhood association. he had sit-downs with the permit officer and police captain and basically went in and tried to get to the root of the ambiguity. how this was resolved you have a business that has been there for almost eight years that the community over 45 letters from residents, over 45 businesses in the immediate area have said it's necessary, desirable and compatible. there were a few issues brought up today and out of respect to those people because they are neighbors, i would ask liam if he has limited entertainment to close the windows during the time he does have that. it's probably not all that often, but to accommodate and respect the neighbors' wishes. the reason why he probably has the windows open is for better ventlation, so people can breathe a little more easily. what he could do is put the music in the back of the space, so that way the sound is muffled and doesn't necessarily have an adverse to the sidewalk or anywhere else. i think there was a speaker who was removed prior -- so tha

the inland boat man's you know and part of the whole scheme i am now apparently, i am now doing tib ron, angel island and sauce leet toe and so i see the commuters at tib ron which i'm fond of and the tourists at sauce leet toe and the tourists from angel island and we have finally recovered from the loss of the alcatraz ferry and when -- refused to hire any of our m m p i'm sorry because we have a great staff here and i would like to tell that you blue and gold is really a good company to work for. thank you. >> thank you. i am ron and an artist in san francisco. i have been here over 20 years and on and off since i was ten, and there has been a lot of speech about people avoiding the castro, but there hasn't been talk about the people that have chosen to live in the castro and drawn to the castro because of the fabric and character of the city which is an element of that is the nudity. the ban also is too broad. there needs to be a different solution to handle the complaints, so when i have a show in the castro that deals specifically with body image and body shame and human existence there are elements of that show that are going to be limited by a band that is too broad. people including my mother were thrilled when she came to san francisco and saw there were naked people wandering through. i don't think that my mother is that liberal, but every once in a while she sees something like that and it's why she also loves san francisco, so the concerns about it driving people away are being off set by the people that are being drawn to the neig

i happened to catch ron owens this morning. he had a discussion about this topic on his radio show and people called in and people said, hey, i'm going to go shop elsewhere. yeah. you might gain a few bucks from the meters on sundays, but you're going to lose a lot of taxpayer money -- sales tax money from people deciding to shop elsewhere. i'm thinking we need to have a color sticker that says operating sundays on the meters because the letters are going to start coming to the editorial pages saying what happened. they didn't know. even though you're going to do outreach, you're still going to have a lot of people who don't know. if you don't do it -- at least have television coverage and radio coverage and big-page ads in the newspapers, you're not going to be able to cover everybody. but the thing is people are going to -- once they get that whopping $75 ticket or whatever, they're going to decide they're not going to shop in san francisco. you're trying to get people to take public transit. they're not going to take all the
